Visitor - Tigers 2
Dodgers slip past the Tigers 3 - 2 at Black field. The Tigers jumped
out early plating 2 runs in the top of the 1st on singles by Cisco
St. Hilaire and Peter Duval, 2 walks and an error. The Dodgers answered
with 1 run in the bottom half of the inning on hits by Harrison O'Brien,
Tighe Robinson and Luke Farley. The Dodger's fielders and pitchers
- Robinson, Farley, James Foye and Cam Collins - then settled in to
hold the Tigers scoreless the rest of the way. The Dodgers plated 2
runners in the bottom of the 4th on another O'Brien hit, 2 walks, some
aggressive base running and a Michael Morin single. Peter Duval pitched
a very strong complete game for the Tigers.

Visitor - Cubs 0
Jack Clay pitched six fantastic shutout innings as the Orioles went
on to beat the Cubs by a score of 14-0. The two teams played extremely
well but Clay proved too much for the Cubs and held them to just four
hits. Cub’s pitchers Andrew Weigand, Michael Allara and William
White threw the ball well but the O's bats came alive with keys hits
by Brett Harring, Sam Ober, Sam Rourke and Luke Nagel. Finally, the
O's defense was on target with terrific catches by Jimmy Campbell,
Pete Mansfield and Brett Harring to preserve the shutout.

Visitor - Orioles 3
The Dodgers knocked off the Orioles 6 - 3 at Cheeseman. The O's jumped
out to an early 3 - 0 lead on a Brett Harring triple in the 1st and
singles by Jack Clay and Jimmy Campbell in the 2nd. The Dodgers answered
in the bottom of the 2nd with 3 runs of their own led by Kent Parson's
triple. In the bottom of the third the Dodgers plated 3 more runs on
doubles by James Foye, Luke Farley and Michael Morin. Peter Mansfield
and Campbell did a fine job pitching for the O's while Farley, Foye
and Cam Collins pitched ably for the Dodgers.

Visitor - Tigers 3
In over 90 degree heat the Angels finished the regular season on a
high note with a hard fought 6-3 win over the Tigers. Angel pitchers
Ian Dickey, Stephen Brao recorded 11 total outs...7 of which were strikes
outs. Griffin Harris was flawless in the last two inning recording
6 consecutive outs on 15 pitches. The Tigers took an early lead with
runs scored by Max Forsey, Pete Duval and Nate Sheppard. The Angles
offense came alive in the 4th inning scoring four runs on consecutive
hits from Marc Pauwels, Stephen Brao and Ian Dickey. Ryan Wynch scored
runs in the first and fifth innings. Tiger pitchers Jay Tucker and
Max Forsey pitched well, but the Angel defense played solid in the
late innings helping them improve to a 13-1 record.

Visitor - Red Sox 8
What a great game. Though the temperature at game time hovered around
90 degrees, both the Orioles and the Red Sox came to play. The Sox
struck first on solid hits by James Burr, Cam Macri and Blake Denman.
The Orioles came right back in the bottom of the first with a string
of singles by Sam Ober, Pete Mansfield, Nolan Wilson and Jack Clay.
Luke Nagel smacked a double and the score stood at 7-2 for the O's.
Not to be outdone, the Sox came right back behind a huge triple by
Ted Hogan and the strong bats of Burr, Macri, Denman and Alex Valotto.
At the end of two, the Orioles had only a one run edge at 7-6. At his
point, the pitching on both squads settled down as Jack Clay for the
Orioles and Henry Charman for the Sox pitch near perfect innings. Finally
the O's were able to make some contact as Mansfield, Sam Rourke and
Nagel connected. But it was Jimmy Campbell's triple that opened up
the game. At the end of four, O's 10, Sox 6. Finally, each team traded
a run, there was great defense on both sides and crowd was on their
toes as the Sox threatened in the top of the sixth. With two down,
the Sox loaded the bases behind singles from Thomas Rostad, Tim Ciriello
and Alex Valotto. But Jimmy Campbell kept his poise and struck out
Ted Hogan to end the game.

The Dodgers topped the Cardinals 16 - 2. The bats were hot for the
Dodgers led by 3 hits each from Michael Morin (3B, 2B), Harrison O'Brien
(3B) and Tighe Robinson. Aidan Robinson also had 2 hits for the Dodgers.
Nathan Rawlins and Ricky Nardella had 2 hits each for the Cards. Riley
Frackelton pitched well in relief for the Cards.

Visitor - Orioles 6
The Cubs bats came alive at a soggy Cheeseman Field to secure a victory
over the Orioles. Lee Drinkwater and Nick Cutler were called up from
the minors and performed brilliantly with runs scored, RBI's and stolen
bases. Patrick McDonough was solid on the mound and McDonoough, Grant
Thompson, Andrew Weigand, Frankie Bucco and Brian Shaw had the bit
bats for the Cubs. The O's answered with big hits from Bret Harring,
Jack Clay, Sam Ober, Peter Mansfield, Nolan Wilson, Jimmy Campbell
and Sam Rourke. Campbell, Mansfield and Nathaniel Chmura pitched well
for the O's.

Visitor - Red Sox 6
Braves-7 Red Sox-6, Henry Charman, Alex Vellato, Ted Hogan and Justin
Guao all tossed the ball for the Red Sox. James Burr, Justin Guao,
Ted Hogan, Blake Denman and Thomas Rostad all collected hits for the
Sox. The Red Sox jumped to an early lead 3-0 in the first then added
1 in the third and 2 in the sixth. The Braves got 1 run in each the
third and fourth. Down 6-2 in the fifth they rallied for 5 runs to
take the lead 7-6 and held on for the win. For the Braves Ben MacDonald
pitched 5 innings and Drew Gallant closed out the game with 2-K's and
a fly out. Austen Michel, Matt Curran, Tristan Smith, Liam Newman and
Drew Gallant all had hits for the Braves.

The Angels and Dodgers played for the second time this season in a
playoff like atmosphere. Before today’s game both teams were
tied for first place with 9-1 records. Angel Starter Ian Dickey had
his strongest outing of the season pitching 5 1/3rd innings striking
out 10 batters. Dodger batter Harrison O’Brien started the game
with a single but was picked off first when catcher Marc Pauwels connected
with Stephen Brao on a perfect throw. Dodger pitchers James Foye and
Cam Collins pitched very well, striking out 13 batters in total. The
Angels scored all of their runs in the 3rd inning on hits from Alex
Rogers, Marc Pauwels and Stephen Brao. The Angels also had good hits
from Nolan O’Brien and Ryan Shaw but they were left stranded
on base. The Dodgers looked to rally in the 6th inning scoring one
run off hits from Harrison O’Brien and James Foye, however Stephen
Brao closed out the game by striking out the last batter.

The pitchers dominated this game. Jack Clay threw a terrific game for
the Orioles, only allowing 4 hits in 4 innings. Peter Mansfield closed
out the Game with 3 consecutive K's. Clay, Ober, Mansfield, Wilson
and Rourque all collecting hits for the O's. Austen Michel threw 3
strong innings for the Braves, followed by Alex MacDonald who worked
out of a bases loaded jam. Ben MacDonald closed the game by striking
out 4 out of 6 batters. Curran, Smith, Michel, B Mac, Libelo, and Newman
all had Hits for the Braves.

It was a soggy outing with the Orioles playing host to the Dodgers.
For most of the game it was a hard fought battle with the score only
2 to 1 in favor of LA. However, going into the 5th the weather turned
even worse, the rain began to pour and the Dodgers took advantage of
the O's defense and pushed another 6 runs across the plate making the
final score 8-1.

The Cubs earned a well deserved win over the Braves 6-4. Andrew Weigand
went the distance for the Cubs, with great defense by Brian Shaw and
Conner Cronin. The Braves had big hits by Jack Blachford, Teddy Libelo
and Austen Michel. Ben MacDonald, Alex MacDonald, Drew Gallant and
Austen Michel all pitched very well for the Braves.

The Dodgers earned a come from behind victory in the bottom of the
seventh inning when Harrison O’Brien laced a hard shot to the
gap in right center to score Tighe Robinson from second base. The Cards
held the early lead scoring one in the first and two in the third.
The Dodgers scratched back scoring one run in the first, third, and
fourth innings to tie the game. Josh Beyer and Chris Anastas pitched
a great game for the Cards. Luke Farley, James Foye, and Cam Collins
all pitched well for the Dodgers.

Visitor - Cardinals 6
The Cubs picked up their second win in a row after a hard fought extra
innings battle with the Cardinals. Patrick McDonough pitched a gem
for the Cubs and had multiple base hits as did Jack Carr. Tim Caves
had a key RBI. Connor Cronin smashed a triple. Grant Thompson was lights
out on the mound to seal the victory. The Cardinals' Andrew Cavanaugh
and Chris Anastas were dominant on the mound despite periods of rain,
sleet and hail. Nathan Rawlins went 3 for 3. Pat Daly, Ricky Nardella
and Sam Petri all had extra base hits for the Cards.

The Braves knocked off the Dodgers 7 - 2 at Cheeseman Field. Starting
pitcher Austen Michel and a stingy Brave defense held the potent Dodger
attack to 2 runs thru the second inning when the Dodgers had more opportunities
to score. Tighe Robinson, Luke Farley and Kyle Craig had hits for the
Dodgers in the early going to produce the 2 Dodger runs. Michel, Thomas
Safford, Ben MacDonald and Matt Curran strung together singles to put
the Braves up 3-2 after three innings. The Braves opened it up in the
4th scoring 4 runs on key hits by Teddy Libelo, Alex MacDonald, Michel
and Safford. Michel then settled in nicely on the mound limiting the
Dodgers to another Robinson single thru 5 2/3. Ben McDonald recorded
the save for the Braves.

Visitor - Cardinals 10
The Angels faced a tough Cardinals line up and slugged out a 16-10
win improving their record to 4-1 on the season. The Cardinals scored
3 runs in the bottom of the 1st innings with singles from Ricky Nardella,
Pat Daly and Chris Anastas followed by a double from Josh Beyer.
Angel starter Ian Dickey struck out two Cardinal batters to stop
the rally
and pitched 4 and 2/3rd innings giving up 4 earned runs and striking
out seven batters. The Angels struck back and scored four runs of
their own in the bottom of the 1st inning when Stephen Brao collected
two
RBI’s with a single. The Cards scored four runs in the 4th inning
capped off by a big two run HR by Chris Anastas. The Angels offence
once again responded with seven runs in the bottom of the 4th to bust
the score wide open, Marc Pauwels doubled clearing the bases for 3
RBI’s followed by key hits from Ryan Winch, Dominick Pizzano,
and Griffin Harris who continually moved the runners around to score.
The Cardinals threatened in the top of the sixth with a double and
2 RBI’s from Andrew Cavanaugh, however Jack Hopkins pitched
two innings of solid relief striking out three Cardinal batters.
For the
Cardinals, Josh Beyer, Rickey Nardella and Chris Anastas all pitched
well but the Angel bats remained hot for the fourth straight game.

Visitor - Orioles 26
The Red Sox hosted the Orioles on another chilly night for baseball.
The game was hard fought on both sides however the Orioles offense
finally came alive and exploded for 26 runs to beat the Sox 26-13.
The Red Sox weren't without power hitting of their own with home runs
by Cam Macri, James Burr and Blake Denman but it was not enough to
overcome the O's consistency at the plate throughout the line-up. Red
Sox pitching showed some strong innings behind Alex Valotto and Henry
Charman. O's pitching was lead by Brett Harring, Peter Mansfield and
Jimmy Campbell.

Solid pitching and aggressive base running were the keys for the Braves
victory. Drew Gallant, Liam Newman, Matt Curran and Ben MacDonald all
pitched outstanding. Austen Michel 2 hits, Liam Newman a double and
RBI. For the Tigers Sam Greenwald starting with 5 minutes notice pitched
very well, and Peter Duval going 3 strong innings. Jay Tucker had a
two hit night and Peter Duval made a nice running catch to rob Matt
Curran of a sure double.

The Tigers and Cubs played a hard fought game. The Tigers jumped out
to an early 2-0 lead but the Cubs battled back with some timely hitting
by Dillon Durand and Jack Carr. Andrew Weigand kept it close as he
pitched 5 solid innings for the Cubs. The Cubs took a 4-2 lead going
into the bottom of the 5th when Andrew Condon tied the game with a
solid hit and aggressive running. Adam Celata was able to drive in
2 more runs with a bases loaded single allowing the Tigers to regain
the lead. Jay Tucker shut down the Cubs in the top of the 6th.

Visitor - Braves 1
Angel pitchers Steven Brao and Alex Rogers both pitched masterpieces
holding the Braves to one run over 6 innings leading the team to a
hard fought 7-1 win. The pitching duo struck out 10 Braves batters
and had a strong defense performance to back them up. The game began
as a pitching dual for the first two innings matching up hard throwing
Brao and Braves starter Austen Michel. The Braves only run scored in
the first inning on a delayed steal from Matt Curran. Angel catcher
Marc Pauwels stopped two Braves from stealing bases and contributed
with his red hot bat lacing three consecutive hits (a single and two
doubles with 3 RBI’s). Ryan Winch, Ian Dickey and Griffin Harris
scorched the baseball with solid doubles. Dominick Pizzano and Jack
Hopkins hit line drive singles and ran the base paths aggressively.
For the Braves, Ben Macdonald had two good hits but Ryan Winch made
the last two outs of the game with nice defensive plays in right field.
The Angels improved their record on the season to 6 wins against just
1 loss.

Visitor - Red Sox 4
The Angels improved their record to 7-1 on the season with starter
Ian Dickey pitching a complete game masterpiece holding the Red Sox
to four runs over 6 innings striking out 8 batters leading to a hard
fought 5-4 win. The Red Sox pitching trio of Henry Charmen, Thomas
Rostad and James Burr pitched very well giving up only five runs to
a potent Angels’ offense. The Angels defense had two excellent
put outs at home plate to catcher Marc Pauwels from Ryan Winch and
Ian Dickey preventing two Red Sox runs from scoring. The Red Sox scored
one run in the 1st, 3rd, 4th and 6th innings tying the score with timely
hits from James Burr, Cam Macri and a nice double by Blake Denman.
The Angels struck back with Stephen Brao’s clutch 2 run HR over
the Cheeseman centerfield fence in the 4th inning to take the lead
for good.

The Dodgers knocked off the Angels in a hard-fought battle 9 - 6. The
Dodgers jumped out to an early 4 run lead taking advantage of a few
walks and hits by Luke Farley, Kyle Craig and Harrison O'Brien. The
Angels made it 4-3 in the 3rd on hits by Jack Hopkins, Sam Evans, Dom
Pizzano and Stephen Brao. Michael Morin and O'Brien led off the 4th
with hits for the Dodgers and scored on Cam Collins' hit to make it
6-3. The Angels scored 3 to tie it up at 6-6 in the top of the 5th.
In the inning, Alex Rogers, Sam Evans and Marc Pauwels had hits and
Brao knocked a HR. Brao also pitched a strong game for the Angels.
The Dodgers answered with 3 runs in the bottom half of the inning to
end the scoring. Tighe Robinson, Farley, Morin and O'Brien strung together
hits for the Dodgers to drive the scoring. Cam Collins closed for the
Dodgers and held the Angel's scoreless in the 6th.

The Angels opened the season on a high note with balanced pitching
and good hitting. The Angels jumped out to an early lead by scoring
4 runs in the first inning led Alex Rogers, Dominick Pizzano, Marc
Pauwels and Stephen Brao with 2 singles and 2 doubles respectively.
The Angels scored three in the fourth with an inside the park home
run by Jack Hopkins. Angel starter, Stephen Brao quieted the Red Sox
bats for most of the game striking out 11 batters giving up one earned
run after five strong innings. The trio of Alex Von Staats, Henry Charman
and James Burr pitched well for the Sox but the Angel bats could not
be stopped on this day. The Sox rallied in the bottom of the sixth
inning led James Burr, Thomas Rostad and Ted Hogan with hits and stolen
bases. Dominick Pizzano pitched one good inning of relief for the Angels
and stopped a last inning rally.

The 2008 season opened with a chilly start. The Detroit Tigers visited
Camden Yards to play the Orioles and the temp barely got out of the
50's. It was a great game and both teams showed a lot of poise. The
Tigers scored right off the bat with strong hitting from Cisco St.
Hilaire, Peter Duval, Jay Tucker and Cameron Newth. The O's struck
back with sharp base running by Pete Mansfield and a key hit by Jack
Clay. At the end of the one, it was Tigers 2, O's 1. Pitching for the
Orioles, Jack Clay found his groove and held the Tigers scoreless in
the 2nd. In the bottom half of the inning however, the Orioles exploded
at the plate putting five runs up behind the bats of Liam Donovan,
Luke Nagel, Jake Stahlman, Brett Harring, Pete Mansfield and Jimmy
Campbell. The game continued with stong play on both sides, Tigers
pitching combination of Cameron Newth, Max Forsey, Jay Tucker and Adam
Celata kept the game tight. O's pitcher Pete Mansfield held the Tigers
to just two runs with five strikeouts. At the end of 4, it was O's
9, Tigers 4. In the fifth inning, the Tigers started a threat with
great hitting and keen base running from St. Hilaire, Tucker and Duval.
Coupled with the fine pitching of Peter Duval, they brought the Tigers
to within 2 and the crowd became restless. Jimmy Campbell came into
pitch for the O's in the 6th and while he started out a little shaky,
he kept his cool with a strikeout that ended the game.

The Dodgers topped the Cubs 6 - 3 in a well played season opener for
both clubs. The Cubs' Andrew Weigand and Grant Thompson were solid
on the mound. Brian Shaw (2 hits), Patrick McDonough (2B) and Thompson
(HR) led the Cub offensive attack. Luke Farley (2B, 1B), Kyle Craig,
Cam Collins and Aidan Robinson had hits for the Dodgers. James Foye,
Farley and Collins did a nice job pitching for the Dodgers. Defensively
the Dodgers received nice plays from Michael Morin, Aidan Robinson
and Harrison O'Brien.

Visitor – Orioles 14
On a cold afternoon at Black Field the Angels survived a slugfest with
the Orioles and held off a late rally by the Orioles to win their second
game of the season by a score of 16-14. Starter Ian Dickey held the
birds scoreless for two innings and worked out of jam with bases loaded
in the first. The Angels jumped to an early five run lead and scored
3 runs in the in the third and fourth innings and five runs in the
fifth inning with solid hitting and stolen bases by Dominick Pizzano,
Marc Pauwels, Stephen Brao, Jack Hopkins, Nolan O’Brien and Sam
Evans. The Orioles rallied for 7 runs in the top of the sixth inning
led by hits and runs led by Brett Harring, Jack Clay, Peter Mansfield,
and a nice double by Sam Ober. Angel relief pitchers Alex Rogers, Dominick
Pizzano and Marc Pauwels pitched well in the cold weather and staved
off the Orioles late rally.

The Angels notched their third win in a row with a convincing performance
both on offense and defense by defeating the Tigers 17-8. The Tigers
opened with 4 early runs from Max Forsey, Cameroon Newth, Peter Duval,
and Jimmy McClelland. The Angels struck back with four run of their
own led by hits from Ryan Winch and Marc Pauwels. The Angels opened
the game wide open by scoring 6, 3 and 4 runs in the next consecutive
innings and put the game out of reach. The offensive burst came with
key hits from Griffin Harris, Alex Rogers and nice triple by Sam Evans.
Angel starter Jack Hopkins and relief pitchers, Stephen Brao, Alex
Rogers, Griffin Harris and Marc Pauwels all pitched well and limited
the Tigers to only 4 more runs the remaining 5 innings. Pitching for
the Tigers were Cameron Newth, Max Forsey. Additionally, Adam Celata
pitched very well on the mound with 2 and 2/3 throwing 40 pitches 31
for strikes. However the red hot Angel bats prevailed on this day.

A nice pitching performance by Ricky Nardella and timely hits from
Patrick O'Leary and Riley Frackelton lead the Cardinals to an 8-3 victory
over the Cubs. Thanks to the coaches for their hard work in preparing
a very soggy Cheeseman Field.
